Loan Application Process

1. Preliminary Application Submission
The Client reads the Assisted Project eligibility criteria and conditions, and obtains the application, on this page or from the nearest National Bank of Egypt (NBE) local branch (find nearest branch to you). The Client fills in and completes the application form and submits it through this page or at an NBE branch.

2. Eligibility and Creditworthiness Check
The NBE assesses the Client’s creditworthiness and project eligibility. If successful, the application, and the Letter of Engagement, are then forwarded to the Project Consultant (PC) for the technical assessment.

3. Project Assessment and Technical Assistance
The Project Consultant (PC) performs a technical and financial screening of the project. If necessary, the PC helps the Client prepare the application, visits the site and undertakes energy surveys at this stage. If found eligible, the Project Consultant passes the Project Assessment Report to the NBE, including the key eligibility information, for the final credit assessment.

4. Final Application Assessment and Approval
The NBE performs a final application assessment, for legal, environmental and financial aspects for final approval.

5. Signing Agreement and Disbursement
The Client signs a Loan Agreement with the NBE following the setting of conditions between the bank and the Client; and the loan will be disbursed.

6. Project Implementation and Verification
The Client implements the project financed under EgyptSEFF. The NBE and the PC monitor the implementation. When the project is completed, the Verification Consultant may verify that the project is properly operational which will include the site visit.

7. Incentive Payment
When the project is positively verified by the Verification Consultant, the National Bank of Egypt provides the loan investment incentive to the Client.
